What are Common Food Allergies

Food allergies are becoming more common, there are many reasons for this. One reason is the ingredients that are now added to everyday food and another is the use of chemicals in the production of the food and the chemicals that exist in our environment at work, home and recreation activities. All ingredients in food should be checked, particularly peanuts which is a common food allergy, as it is not uncommon for foods to have numerous ingredients that cause allergies, like where peanuts are included.  Different varieties of foods are often created on the same machines.  Products should be label to identify this has occurred.

There are a lot of recipes that will provide you with alternative ingredients to foods that cause allergies. These recipes are available in specific cookbooks for allergy sufferers plus there are many online sources available on the internet that are devoted to food allergies.

Milk is a common food that a lot of people have sensitivity too.  Milk may be a product that is found in several foods, particularly bakery items.  The good news is that milk is comparatively simple to replace, with a range of substitutes that can be used as an alternate. Eggs are another common item that many individuals have allergic reactions to.  The great news is that people who have an egg allergy can use a range of different substitutes, particularly for baking.  Substitutes include yeast, oil, baking powder, and gelatin.  In looking at egg substitutes check that egg whites are not used.

Wheat allergies are another common allergy that a lot of people suffer from, rice flour and corn flour are often used as substitutes when baking.  Another common food allergy that several people suffer from is a peanut allergy.  Sadly, peanut allergies are known to cause the most severe reactions.  Fish allergies also are somewhat of a common food allergy.  Fish is widely used in many manufactured goods.

The important thing you should remember with food allergies is that you need to check everything you buy and if you are eating food someone else has cooked or prepared, check on what ingredients they have used. It is also important to know if other foods have been prepared and what were they. If it doubt do not eat that food.  A lot of people will bring their own food to ensure that they will not suffer a reaction, particularly if their reactions can be life threatening. This is an acceptable practice to undertake and it is becoming more common place as the incidences of food allergies continue to rise.

Where To Buy Corn Flour Questions

I need help setting up a system of equations??

Suppose you buy flour and cornmeal in bulk to make flour and corn tortillas. Flour costs $1.50/lb and cornmeal costs $2.50/lb. You want to spend less than $9.50 on flour and cornmeal and you need at least 4 pounds all together. Write a system of inequalities that describes this situation.

I really have no clue where to start on this one. Any help is appreciated.

Let f = no of lb of flour
and c = no of lb of cornmeal

1.5f + 2.5c < 9.5
f + c ≥ 4
f ≥ 0
c ≥ 0
